On December 8, Qiyuan Green Power launched its first overseas battery charging and swapping project at PT Weda Bay Nickel in Sulawesi, Indonesia. This marks a significant milestone for Qiyuan, a front runner in China's heavy duty truck battery charging and swapping sector, as it expands globally.

Indonesia has the world's largest reserves of laterite nickel ore, especially on Sulawesi Island and surrounding islands. Due to local policies and power supply issues, some nickel smelting industrial parks face significant pressure regarding air environment management and cost control. In light of this, park operators are contemplating a shift toward green energy sources and sustainable electric transportation model.

In mid-November, Qiyuan Green Power signed a cooperation agreement with Weida Bei Nickel Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Tsingshan Holding Group Company Limited. The agreement focuses on developing an intelligent integrated energy solution centered around PV power generation and green electric transportation, etc. It aims to comprehensively address the challenges related to eco - friendly development and the costs of transportation in the mining industry. The project has garnered attention and been featured in public reports by the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO).

This project is planned with a PV installed capacity of 2GW, and the first phase will be invested with 2 battery swapping stations and 100 battery swapping heavy duty trucks. It is expected to save customers 15 million yuan in operating costs and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 24,920 tons annually.
